Erin Andrews has been one of Fox Sports' top NFL sideline reporters for nearly a decade and has another decade of experience covering sports across the country.
In recent years, Andrews has expanded into more content, starting with hiscalm downPodcast con Charissa Thompsonto herWEAR CLOTHING LINE.
But right now, the main place to find Andrews on a daily basis during the NFL season is on the sidelines. And he has a big task ahead of him this particular weekend, as he approaches Conference Championship Sunday.
We caught up with Andrews to discuss, among other things, Championship Sunday, participating quarterbacks, his recent partnership with Dr. Talk to Scholl's, and some interesting foods.
This interview is possible thanks toDra. Scholls:
ElSpun: Have you seen Dr. Scholl is online for a new campaign they are launching for the big game. Can you tell us about it?
erin andres: Are you on your feet a lot? I am on my feet when I travel and on Sundays. Many people think that we are just in the game and leave immediately after. We will be there probably 3-4 hours before the game. There's really no place to sit and we talk to the guys, we talk to the coaches and I run the whole game. So Sundays are a lot on my feet and then we run to the airport. in Dr. So Scholl is a no-brainer, especially with the big game in a couple of weeks.
One of my favorite things is the Prevent Pain Lower Body protective insoles. This is so good if you are like me and you are on your feet a lot, it helps you prevent back pain to prevent you from feeling like your feet are about to fall off if you have knee pain control. This is something I just have to put in my shoe so I can run and hit Kyle Shanahan at halftime and not feel like my feet are going to drop off.
Dr. de Scholl's Severe Cracked Heel Balm is also good for me. This is really great because it keeps your feet hydrated and if you really want to care for your heels it's travel friendly and if you have a long day you want to moisturize or massage your feet.
And finally, we have Dr. Escuela's Revitalize recovery insoles. These are great on Monday after a long game or after a long day of travel. You have these massage nodules that help blood flow and help you recover faster.
ElSpun: Have you ever had a live foot problem?
andreas:Are you crazy? Yes. I'm on my feet so much that I keep getting blisters. I even had to ask the trainers to help me and bandage my feet before going to Dr. Scholl they worked together. I now have these blisters for my shoe where I wear these fabulous loafers while bleeding inside. It becomes, 'Who cares about this offensive lineman's knee problem? I have blisters.” I no longer have to bother the coaches. It's a bit difficult not (to have foot problems). I've had soccer players step on me with their cleats, it's pretty easy to see why I worked with these guys.
ElSpun: We saw Patrick Mahomes put on one of the boldest performances in recent memory when he returned to the game after suffering an ankle injury. Does your injury to him affect the Chiefs' Super Bowl chances?
andreas:I wouldn't put my faith in Patrick Mahomes. I feel like if there had been bigger news about the ankle, we would have found out what the MRI revealed. I'm not a doctor, of course, but Patrick Mahomes is one of the toughest guys around. I'm sure you'll figure out how to use it. He was working on the game where he dislocated his knee on the field and he came back and won the Super Bowl. Patrick is a beast. Andy Reid is a great coach. I'm sure they'll find out.
ElSpun: What makes this Bengals team more likely to win a Super Bowl than last year?
andreas: I think another year under his belt, another year in the system. Joey B. This guy seems to have all the confidence in the world. It is a team that has been there before. Many of these teams we cover like San Francisco, which has now made three NFC Championship Game appearances in the past four years. What have you learned from the past this year that will help you get to where you need to be? I think the Bengals proved the stakes last year.
This year they know what to expect and have really gotten through it. I think these will be very big assets for them.
ElSpun: The Eagles looked very good on Saturday. Do you see any weakness in your team?
andreas:You? I don't. The Eagles are so fun and exciting. Jalen Hurts: Just pick your poison: who he's shooting to, who he's giving the ball to, the defense looks good. I don't (I see a weakness). I think Philly is clicking, and what a great timing for that, huh?
ElSpun: Where are the Dallas Cowboys going after Sunday's loss?
andreas: (sighs) I don't know. That is not my experience. I'm a huge fan of Dak Prescott, I feel sorry for him. I'm a big fan of Mike McCarthy. I love the organization very much. But that's hard. It's hard for me when you're building relationships with these guys.
For me, you don't want anyone to lose. You rejoice to see such great teams and such great games and you hate it when someone's dream comes to an end that night. I'll let the Talking Heads decide what they think should happen next in Dallas. But I know these guys' hearts hurt and I feel bad.
ElSpun: Which of the losers from the preliminary round do you think has the best chance of stepping up next year?
andreas:I think the Giants. I think we're all happy that New York is back in the conversation. Brian Daboll is great. I really want to see what movements and signings they make. I think the future is bright there.
The Bills will find out. They've been through a lot as a team this year. I hope they are always in conversation.
ElSpun: Who were some of the people who inspired you to pursue journalism as a child?
andreas:I think Melissa Stark was great. I loved the way she seemed to have good relationships. She entered the industry when Brady and Belichick were growing up in New England. I loved how the players reacted to her and told her about her. It reminds me a lot of my interview with (George) Kittle, how he looks like two friends talking in the field.
Joe Buck and Troy Aikman (also). I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with them. I have always seen them and it was a lot of fun talking to them about soccer.
These are three people I wanted to meet and get to know.
ElSpun: Are there tasks outside of sport that were especially special to you?
andreas:I think the role of Dancing with the Stars made me realize that I wanted to get involved in the entertainment industry in some way. There were a few times where I co-hosted with Michael Strahanmiguel y kellyAnd I had a great time doing it. So yeah, there are definitely other roles I'd like to be in.
ElSpun: How about some food? Does pineapple belong on pizza?
andreas:No.
ElSpun: Does ham belong on pizza?
andreas:No.
ElSpun: Is a hot dog a sandwich?
andreas:No.
